CSW offers professional development and learning opportunities to CSW students and families, the broader community, and international partners. Enrichment programming occurs during the school year and the summer months, designed for high school students and adults in the Weston community and beyond. Whether you are a CSW alum or new to Weston and looking for your own educational spark, our Lifelong Learning program is a great opportunity to step back into the role of student. Or, perhaps more exciting for families joining us for summer camp, our Summer Mini Mods allow high school students the opportunity to brush up on their math skills as they prepare for the next school year ahead – everyone can be in one place!
CSW is thrilled to offer summer math courses in Foundations in Algebra for incoming 9th and 10th graders, Geometry for rising 10th and 11th graders, and Launch to Calculus for rising 11th and 12th graders. These 3-week courses are designed to help students strengthen their math skills, meet their goals in enrolling in their desired future math courses, and provide lots of feedback, connection, extensions, and camp-style fun along the way.
Foundations in Algebra
The summer Foundations in Algebra course at CSW is designed for students looking to strengthen their algebra skills before their school year courses begin. This distilled version of algebra 1 focuses on the key topics needed to excel in the future math curriculum, including work with variables, exponents, and radicals, functions and transformations, linear functions and modeling, and quadratic functions and equations. Students, especially incoming students, are also invited to take algebra 1 before enrolling in algebra 2 even if their placement does not necessarily indicate a need, in order to strengthen their skills and confidence in math, gain familiarity with CSW math curricula, get to know CSW teachers and fellow students, and enjoy enhancing their math abilities in a focused, fun, and non-grade-centric environment.
Geometry Enrichment
The summer geometry course at CSW is designed for rising 10th or 11th students looking to complete geometry before enrolling in algebra 2 and beyond during their subsequent school years. This shortened version of geometry focuses on lines and angles, symmetry and proof, circles, areas, and volumes, and right triangle trigonometry. Incoming students are also invited to take summer geometry even if their placement does not necessarily indicate a need, in order to strengthen their skills and confidence in geometry, gain familiarity with CSW math curricula, get to know CSW teachers and fellow students, and enjoy doing math in a focused, fun, and non-grade-centric environment.
Launch to Calculus
“Launch to Calculus” is a summer course designed to help students transition confidently from precalculus to Calculus AB. Ideal for those who want to strengthen key skills, refresh math knowledge after a gap, or explore introductory calculus in a low-stakes setting, this course provides targeted practice in elementary functions, trigonometry, limits, and derivatives.
Students will review essential precalculus concepts, gain hands-on experience with foundational calculus topics, and build confidence through problem-solving and collaboration. Whether you’re preparing for Calculus AB, re-engaging with CSW math after a break, or previewing calculus before college, this course provides the support and practice needed to succeed.
