Complete your application online using the button below. We look forward to getting to know you through your application, so take your time and share your best with us.
We will reach out to schedule an interview with those applicants who submit a completed application and meet our criteria for available positions.
Applicants should submit references from work and/or school who can attest to their qualifications and character.
We will conduct CORI and SORI checks through the Massachusetts system, as well as the FBI fingerprint database.
CSW Summer Camp will begin on June 23 and run through August 15, 2025.
The work day runs Monday – Friday, from 8:15 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. for most positions. Counselors will also rotate through AM Care (7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.) and PM Care (4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.) throughout the summer sessions. Specific roles may have responsibilities outside those hours, which will be described in your interview and employment offer.
Our preference is to hire staff who are available to work for the duration of the program, but we will consider exceptions. Please indicate your anticipated availability on your staff application.
Working at camp is a full and real commitment. Please do not apply to work with us if you anticipate extended absences, inconsistent attendance due to appointments or other obligations, or if you are unsure of your future plans.
Candidates for positions at CSW Summer Camp must be at least 17 years old by the start of their employment.
All employees under the age of 18 must obtain the necessary work permit for 14-17 year-olds as required by Massachusetts state law.
Please see our Parent/Guardian Agreement for Minors Employed by CSW.
CSW Summer Camp runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Staff members arrive at 8:15 a.m. and may leave after the campers depart at the end of the day, with the exception of the times staff is assigned to AM Care or PM Care. Most mornings begin with a staff meeting and/or preparations for Arrival.
As a staff member in any program, you will be involved with your campers and their activities throughout the day, including lunch.
At the end of each day, staff assist with dismissal and pick-up or other assigned duties to facilitate preparation for the next day of camp.
CSW staff in all programs will receive a complimentary lunch. The menu includes lunch options for all types of dietary preferences. We ask that staff do not bring food or drink from outside of camp. Staff are expected to sit with and supervise campers during lunch.
Your personal appearance must allow you to participate in all aspects of your work at camp. Campers will look up to you, so please keep this in mind. Ripped clothing is not appropriate.
CSW Summer Camp staff are required to wear a staff shirt on a daily basis. Staff will be given three of the required shirts during staff training and have the opportunity to purchase additional shirts at cost.
Your clothing may get dirty throughout the day. We recommend athletic or casual shorts for comfort.
Staff Training is mandatory for all staff members.
You will be required to complete over 25 hours of staff training in June – including online and in-person training on two Saturdays in June – which will cover all aspects of summer and what will be expected of you in your specific role as a staff member. Staff training also gives you an opportunity to get to know the other summer staff members and for all of us to form a supportive team going into the summer session.
Specific roles may require additional training sessions or certification classes, which will be outlined in your interview and employment agreement.
CSW Summer Camp is dedicated to providing a safe and worthwhile experience for all Summer Team members and camp participants. CSW staff is expected to be fully present each day in mind and body, be positive in all interactions to ensure a good experience for all, and speak directly to the Director of Summer and Auxiliary Programs immediately with any concerns.
Every position at CSW Summer Camp includes daily responsibilities that you will be held accountable for and supported to perform. We are thorough and thoughtful in our hiring process to be sure each staff member matches their position’s responsibilities, and we expect our staff to perform the job for which they applied and accepted with the utmost attention to the needs of the camp and the campers. Staff works as a team, and all members should expect to be asked to help and to support all aspects of CSW Summer Camp.
While we recognize the dedication and work that goes into being a staff member at a summer camp, we are confident that you will grow as a member of our staff in our inaugural year and enjoy the experience of being a part of this special experience.
For specific job descriptions, please click on the available position titles in the Hiring section.
We encourage (but do not require) full COVID-19 vaccination for all eligible staff of our CSW programs.
CSW Summer Camp is a phone-free work environment. We provide alternative communication devices for each camper group and at various camp locations to facilitate communication as needed.
Camps are legally required to maintain a specific ratio of staff to campers. When staff need to miss all or part of a day, it can jeopardize our compliance. We ask that staff plan ahead and schedule appointments, events, errands, etc. outside of camp hours. Should the need arise to take time away from camp on a particular day, staff must submit a request in writing at least 48 hours in advance. Even with advance notice, we cannot guarantee that your request will be granted.
